“I love working with youth because they have a lot of energy and enthusiasm."
Formerly an aspiring lawyer, Youth Coordinator Michelle Palomino was able to find her passion and now lives out her dreams though the Erie House community. Just four years ago, she made the leap from corporate law firm to nonprofit community service agency, thanks to encouragement from her coworkers at the time. Now, she’s in a master’s program for teaching and couldn’t be happier.
I realize there’s a lot of work that needs to be done in the field, and it’s important because they’re going to grow up to become adults someday and need to understand what it means to be a healthy, successful citizen. Erie House is absolutely the best organization in Chicago and in the country. The services they provide are phenomenal, and the people who work here genuinely care about the community they serve.”
