Community Literacy

Because communication is the building block of relationships.

Learning to communicate effectively is one of the most important things we teach here at Erie House. Not only does it impact the career opportunities available to our community, it’s also a building block for developing relationships – both personal and professional.

The Community Literacy program at Erie House offers one-on-one and small group tutoring for over 300 students annually who are reading at or below the eighth grade level. Tutoring sessions focus on oral and written comprehension through focused one-on-one sessions with qualified volunteers.
