Holiday With Hearts: A Big Holiday THANK YOU!

December 20, 2011 | Chicago, IL

By Francisco Martinez

Erie Neighborhood House would like to wish everyone a Happy Holiday Season!

It is with a gracious heart that we express our sincere appreciation to the community. Many of you have provided many spectacular gifts, providing families with children’s toys, gift cards to name brand stores, and coats. However, aside from the physical gifts, you have also provided warmth, joy, and relief to many children and their families this year.

As the holiday season comes to fruition we would like to personally give thanks to the community that helped Erie House provide such needed assistance.

Over 600 children and teens received toys and many struggling families received store gift cards. Some donors who asked if there was a particular need, donated gift cards to book, discount and grocery stores. Erie House put out a call for 50 new coats for children and received new brand-name winter coats which were distributed to kids in our programs that were most in need.

Thank you all for the special gifts and lessons of love, community, and generosity.
