Workforce Development Program Receives Deluxe Corporation Foundation Grant

The Deluxe Corporation Foundation awarded a $5,000 grant to support the Workforce Development program at Erie Neighborhood House.

The Erie House program offers instruction and hands-on support through its Pathways to Success pre-certification courses in healthcare, manufacturing, supply chain logistics.

A robust technology center with skill-specific courses and open lab hours also supports digital literacy and software skills necessary for success in the workplace.

Students are able to develop basic skills through a contextualized approach, building a solid foundation for college and career opportunities and a blueprint for earning a family-sustaining wage.

“Our Workforce Development program goes far beyond giving adult learners tools for success,” explains Melissa Flores, senior director of programs at Erie House. “We help our students learn how to use those tools, and we’re here to support them and provide them with the confidence they need to excel even after they’ve advanced to a certification program.”
